Biographical Note
Wilbur O'Byrne was born June 19, 1884 in Franklin County, Indiana and died August 18, 1974 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. He was married to Ethyl McKee (1886-1976). O'Byrne was the first Professior of Forestry and later founded the School of Forestry at Virginia Tech.
