Scope and Content Information

From the Collection:

The Anne H. Price Yates Papers consist of materials gathered by Yates and her father, William Conway Price, while researching the Price, Harless and related families preparatory to compiling the book Increase in Prices: Some Descendents of David and Agnes (Hoffman) Price of 17th Century Germany. The collection contains numerous letters received by Yates and Price from extended family members, librarians and historians, as well as a few pieces of outgoing correspondence and letters between third parties. Attached to many of the incoming letters are genealogical charts, photocopies of genealogical records and memories of family members. The collection also contains a set of family group records, providing detailed genealogical information on various members of the Harless family and miscellaneous charts received by Yates and Conway from various sources. (Some of these notes and charts seem to have originated from Harvey Lee Price, Yates' grandfather and also a genealogist.) A compilation of genealogical printed materials, notes and documents--comprised of such materials as cemetery, land, marriage, Bible and military records, newspaper clippings, transcribed documents, and personal notes--completes the collection.
