The Smithfield Review article authored by James Glanville (v.7, 2004) discusses the possibility of a Spanish presence in Virginia that predates the 1570 Spanish attempt to form a settlement in the Chesapeake Bay area. In addition to the Smithfield Review article, the collection also contains a copy of the January 2004 edition of the Saltville Foundation Newsletter with a featured article by the same author on "Scotch-Johnny" John Houston.
