The collection contains a single ledger from Martin Urner’s harness and saddle-making business in New Market, Virginia. The ledger includes customer and payment information from 1867 to 1881.

Post-Civil War letter written by Private William H. Barron of the U. S. Army Signal Corps. Letter written from Richmond, Virginia to friend, describing visits to local battlefields, boredom in camp, watching the soldiers return to their homes in the North, his hope that Jefferson Davis will hang, and the arrival of Governor Pierpont in Richmond.

Civil War Diary of R. Baxter Brown, lieutenant in Company I, 11th New Hampshire Infantry.

Deed between Benjamin Say and Richard Mason in 1787 for the purchase of 5,000 acres of land located on the west fork of the Monongalia River, situated in present-day Harrison County, WV.

Twenty-three diaries meticulously written by Chapman J. French, a civil engineer for Norfolk & Western Railway, made during the years of 1906-1912, 1928-1935, and 1937-1944. The diaries relate French's daily activities at home and at work; they also include such items as addresses, cost accounts, and major league baseball scores.

The collection contains an essay entitled, "The Great Blizzard of 1857" written by Dr. Ray Gaskins.

Collection contains the signature and brief biographical note of George Washington Morgan. Three other unknown signatures are included.
