MSS. Manuscript Collections

The Lucy Herndon Crockett Papers consists of type and manuscript versions of some of Crockett's published and unpublished novels, her illustrations and art for her publications, and a small group of personal papers and papers about her. Materials date from about 1940 to 2015.

This collection contains 24 letters, 2 stamped envelopes, 2 cent stamps 1 baby photo, a Victorian valentine, newspaper clippings, a photo of an unidentified infant, and a decorated box.

The collection includes two carte-de-visites of Mr. & Mrs. O. S. Pence, taken at Rees studio in Richmond, Virginia, c.1861-1865. Each is posed beside photographer's stock background and chair.

The collection contains four $10 bills, two $50 bills, and two $100 bills. The $100 bills are stamped on the back "Issued from the Treasrs Office Richmond, Feb 10, 1863."

The collection consists of a single military pass for Captain F. C. Fisher to Montgomery White Sulphur Springs (Montgomery County, Va.).

The New Jersey Zinc Corporation Records II contains maps, surveys, memoranda, and reports related to the New Jersey Zinc Company.

The collection contains a small group of Sutherland's correspondence, as well as VPI publications, newspaper clippings and ephemera relating to VPI and Sutherland's military service.

The collection consists of five bound reports produced for the Appalachian Regional Commission Teaching Project from the years 2001-2006.
