Ebenezer E. Mason Diary,
The collection includes the diary of Ebenezer E. Mason, a magistrate and delegate, that covers his experiences from January through August 1864 as well as a few entries in February 1865.
H. G. Davis Letter,
The collection contains a letter written from H. G. Davis to his son written June 19, 1876, and discusses land for sale.
Benjamin F. Hough Letter,
The collection consists of a single letter from Hough to "Cousin Seymour," dated December 2, 1863, written from Libby Prison, near Richmond.
A. J. Davis Collection,
The A. J. Davis Collection includes a journal; photographs, sketches, and ephemera; and a town history. The journal (1874-1901) contains memoirs, particularly of Davis' army experiences, as well as some writing exercises, poetry, stories, and religious observations. A second notebook includes a 19-page history of Woods Hole, Massachusetts, authored by Davis. The collection also contain pictures of Davis and his wife.
Iron Gate, Virginia, Ledgers,
The collection consists of 23 ledgers and day books, as well as approximately 60 receipts and other loose documents relating to a general goods store in Iron Gate, Virginia.
Marion Windle Recipe Book,
The collection includes a compiled recipe book with recipes dated from 1918 to 1974. The recipes were most likely collected by Marion Windle, whose name is found on the cover.
Barnes Family Correspondence,
The collection contains seven letters written to and from members of the Barnes family between 1961 and 1864 and two handwritten poems.
Isaac Cox Letter,
The collection includes a letter from Isaac Cox, 29th Regiment, Virginia Infantry, dated June 29, 1862. A private, and later corporal, Cox writes to his wife about recent regiment activities and travels. The letter was written on paper decorated with cut out designs.
Asa F. Horn Account Book and Family Correspondence,
The collection includes an account book belonging to Asa F. Horn in addition to three letters, two written from Joel B. Ricker to "Cousin Gilman" (possibly Gilman Horn) and one from Emma Horn to "Brother Freeman." All are most likely from the area surrounding Acton, Maine, though it is unclear how they are related.
Jacob W. Smiley Diary,
This collection includes a diary kept by Jacob Wallace Smiley that spans from the time of he was drafted in August 1863, until he was killed in action on May 4, 1864. Smiley chronicled the travels and activities of his unit, the 7th Company, 1st Battalion, New York Sharpshooters, in the Northern Virginia region. The diary also includes a CDV of Smiley and his wife, Melissa.
