Union Soldier Photograph
The collection consists of a photograph of an unnamed Union soldier.
Joseph F. Ware Collection
The collection contains 102 letters from Joseph F. Ware to his wife, Susie, in Blacksburg, Virginia, while he was serving overseas during and after World War I. The other significant portion of this collection contains nearly 200 photographs.
IAWA Small Collections,
The IAWA Small Collections was compiled from a variety of sources by Special Collections staff for use in reference and research. The collection consists primarily of biographical materials for women architects, architectural historians, and designers including curriculum vitas, firm brochures, exhibit notices, photographs, and publications. Drawings, sketches, course notes, correspondence, and other materials pertaining to architectural collections are also present.
Sherwood Anderson Photograph and Postcard,
The collection consists of one postcard of Notre-Dame from Sherwood Anderson to Bert and Clara Dickenson and a photograph of Sherwood Anderson and Bert Dickenson in Florida with a line of fish in between the two men.
William Gideon Harris Photograph Album,
William Gideon Harris album contains photographs of the VPI campus and surrounding areas, c.1908-1912, as well as several newsclippings and pieces of poetry. .
Percy Clayton Hamilton Photograph Album,
The collection consists of a small photograph album belonging to Percy Clayton Hamilton, class of 1912, with photographs from his tenure as a student at VPI.
Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia Cabinet Cards,
The collection consists of 23 cabinet cards featuring individuals, couples, children, and adults. Images were taken by photographers and photographic studios in Bristol, TN/VA, Bluefield, West Virginia., and several towns in Southwest Virginia.
Mr. & Mrs. O. S. Pence Carte de Visites,
The collection includes two carte-de-visites of Mr. & Mrs. O. S. Pence, taken at Rees studio in Richmond, Virginia, c.1861-1865. Each is posed beside photographer's stock background and chair.
Nelson Liddle Collection,
The Nelson Liddle Collection consists of photographs of the VPI Airport and aircraft during WWII as well as a photocopy of "The Beacon" newsletter from November 1942.
Charles E. Vawter Family Collection,
The collection contains three types of items: a Ledger Book from 1882-1883, two VPI yearbooks from 1900 and 1913, a CDV photo album, and two early daguerreotypes.
