Scope and Content
The collections consists of letters written from George L. Ferguson while on active service with the American Expeditionary Force during and immediately following World War I in France and Scotland, to Julia Harvey Ingles of Dublin and Abingdon, Virginia. The letters are dated 1918 and 1919.

Biographical Note
George L. Ferguson, of Elyria, Ohio, was a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army in 1918. While serving in France with the 306th Field Signal Battalion, 81st Division, A.E.F., Ferguson won the Distinguished Service Cross.
