Union captain in the 194th Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War. Three letters to his wife from Fayetteville, Ohio, and another unknown camp. Writes at length of poverty of country people he has seen on the marches. Also includes a letter to Morris from his cousin, Alex Caudle, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Transcript available.
