Confederate soldier in the 21st Texas Cavalry, Company F, during the Civil War. Letter written May 10, 1863, from camp near Lanjer, Arkansas, to his wife. Writes about a recent raid to Missouri where they killed and captured many of the enemy, and about their fighting in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
