The Roanoke Railway and Electric Company Photo Album is a single item. Titled "Roanoke Railway and Electric Co. and Roanoke, Virginia," the album contains 42 images of the company's buildings and tracks, as well as other scenic views in the Roanoke area (including Mountain Park and a bird's-eye view of the city). Most of the images are undated, but a few are dated from 1907 to 1909.

Biographical/Historical Information
The Roanoke Railway and Electric Company, founded around 1901, succeeded the Roanoke Street Railway Company. An affiliate of the Lynchburg Traction and Light Company, the RR&E operated a trolley line and provided electricity in the Roanoke area. The company's trolley line was abandoned in 1948.
