Biographical Information

H. (Harvey) D. Walters was born in Floyd County, Virginia, on April 11, 1849 to John and Rhoda (Rhutroff) Walters. In 1878 Walters moved to Montgomery County and later married Rosa M. Gardner in 1874. This union produced four children. Walters owned a jewelry store in Christiansburg, Virginia, and was only one of two Jewelers and Watchmakers to be listed in Chataigne's Virginia Gazetteer and Business Directory of 1888-89 for Montgomery County.
