Scope and Content From the Collection: Victoria Cross was a pseudonym of English writer Annie Sophie Cory. She wrote this letter from the Hotel Cecil, Strand, to "Mr. Massie," asking him to read and provide feedback for her novel Life's Shop-Window. Hughes Massie was a literary and dramatic agent based in London with whom Cross had some business dealings. For a time, he also represented Cross in the United States.
