James Francis Heizer & Phoebe Anne McCormick Heizer Collection
This collection consists of 100+ letters written between the years of 1863–1868, accompanied by a book entitled, The Heizer Family: American Pioneers by James Marion Heizer c.1861-1868. The majority of the letters are authored by James Francis (Frank) Heizer, a private in the Confederate army, whose letters are mostly addressed to his love interest and eventual fiance, Pheobe Ann McCormick.
Benjamin F. Hough Letter,
The collection consists of a single letter from Hough to "Cousin Seymour," dated December 2, 1863, written from Libby Prison, near Richmond.
Charles E. Johnson Letter
The collection contains a single letter from Charles Johnson, a cadet at VPI to Miss Martha Clark, written around March 26, 1933.

Introduced by a mutual friend, Leitch and Lankes maintained a more than 18-year correspondence that contained conversations of personal news & friends, the Virginia literary and art scene, and their own writing and artistic efforts (including Lankes collaborations with poet Robert Frost).
