Scope and Content

Collection includes research data of the properties of metals conducted by The American Brake Shoe Company (later Abex). Also contains the master logbooks and listing of compositions on keypunch cards of the Battelle Institute Research Reports, and approximately 37 cu. ft. of research-related publications, reference books, and metallurgical samples. Unprocessed. 

Abstract

The collection contains a copy of a map of part of the VPI campus drawn by Cahill in 1909, materials from his professional life, and an article in which he is cited. It also includes obituaries.

Scope and Content The collection consists of reference material NASA artist James Dean used in producing the artwork for Michael Collins' book Liftoff: The Story of America's Adventure in Space. The bulk of the contents include NASA file photos, files from the twelve Gemini missions, the majority of Apollo missions (mostly XI), the Spacelab project, the Hubble telescope, space shuttle missions, the Challenger accident, and many other NASA related subjects.
