College of Home Economics Metabolism Study Collection
Collection of 30 images documenting a metabolism study conducted by the College of Home Economics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Directed by Laura Jane Harper, the study was concerned with determining nitrogen requirements and utilization for young girls.

These papers are comprised mostly of correspondence from George B. Collins' time as Chairman of the Brookhavens Cosmotron Department. The collection also contains travel vouchers, research proposals, travel reports, and materials relating to Collins' work as a professor at University of Notre Dame and at Virginia Tech.
