Historical Photograph Collection (List of Subjects),
The photograph collection at Special Collections consists primarily of historical photographs of Virginia Tech, dating back to the 1890s. The collection is also home to historic images of Blacksburg, Montgomery County, the New River Valley, and Southwest Virginia in general. A photograph collection of faculty and staff from the university is maintained separately.

Robert G. Moore Photo Album,
The collection contains a student handbook, newspaper articles, and a photo album of scenes on the VPI campus from 1918-1919, many of which are clearly identified. The collection was compiled by Robert G. Moore, a VPI graduate of 1922.
Named/Individual Photograph Collections,
The Named/Individual Photograph Collection include images from alumni and former faculty and staff, or individuals with ties to campus and the New River Valley. Collections (c.1890-present) depict campus life and events, railroad history, agricultural extension research, Blacksburg and surrounding areas, and some local families.
National Biscuit Company Photograph
The collection consists of a single black and white photograph of a group of National Biscuit Company salesman and delivery drivers posed outside of a factory. Most of the men are carrying cracker display units and the trucks in the background are advertising Uneeda Biscuits. The photograph is not dated.

Norfolk & Western Railway Company Construction Site Photographs,
The collection includes approximately 360 photographs (and in some cases, photocopies of photographs) of railroad construction in Southwest Virginia. The majority of images date from 1967-1981. There is also a folder of undated images.
