Note to General John C. Breckinridge
This collection consists of a note written in 1864 to General John C. Breckinridge asking for permission to ship a carriage to prevent its theft.
Jonathan B. Beckwith Letters
The collection contains two letters to relatives by Beckwith. In the 1861 letter, Beckwith writes of the burgeoning Civil War in Virginia and what he has heard about actions in surrounding states. The 1866 letter refers to family business and Beckwith's views on ante- and post-bellum West Virginia.

The Dr. Thomas' Eclectric Oil trade card is an advertisement for a cure-all serum marketed most popularly during the Victorian era. This particular trade card was distributed by James Aumann, M.D.—a druggist and chemist from Wytheville, Virginia.
