Jubal A. Early Letter,
The collection consists of a letter written by Jubal A. Early to General Ran William H. Payne of Warrenton, Virginia regarding Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical Collection (now Virginia Tech).
Adam Finch Collection,
Adam Tyree Finch graduated with the Class of 1893. Finch returned to VPI in 1898 to teach Military Science and Tactics. Finch also served as Commandant of Cadets and Assistant Professor of Physiology and Materia Medica before leaving VPI in Spring of 1900. Collection includes scrapbook pages containing photos and materials from Adam Finch's time as a cadet and VPI. Also included is a letter of recommendation from President Barringer and a letter written by Finch about an alumni reunion.
Virginia Agricultural & Mechanical College Receipt to W. C. Franklin,
The collection consists of a receipt received by W. C. Franklin on March 8, 1876, from the Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College.
William E. Franklin Memorabilia,
The collection includes memorabilia from Franklin's student years (1872-1875) at Virginia Agriculture and Mechanical College: a program from the 1875 commencement exercises, an undated photo of the Cadet Corps, and an 1879 letter from Charles Martin, a professor of English.

The photograph collection at Special Collections consists primarily of historical photographs of Virginia Tech, dating back to the 1890s. The collection is also home to historic images of Blacksburg, Montgomery County, the New River Valley, and Southwest Virginia in general. A photograph collection of faculty and staff from the university is maintained separately.
